Disney Springs

If you look closely, you can see a little wedding taking place to the left.

Previously known as Downtown Disney, Disney Springs is a large open shopping mall located in the Walt Disney Resort.  To get there you take I-4 highway to highway 535 to Hotel Plaza Dr. and follow the road to Buena Vista Dr.

Disney Springs has three parking areas that I know of.  The Lime Parking which drops you off at the east end and Orange parking which drops you off at the west end.

There is also on the furthermost end of the Disney Springs, where the Lynx bus line drops off passengers, an open area parking lot.  My favorite parking area is the Lime because it is closest to the Lego store.

There is enough shopping, dining, and entertainment at Disney Springs to keep a family busy for the whole day, but I only like to go when the shops first open and leave by 1:00 when it gets crowded.

Below are quite a bit of pictures I have taken at Disney Springs.  As I've done in other posts, I recommend you just scroll down and read the photo captions for more information on Disney Springs.  Thanks for looking and reading!

This fountain is located right where the escalators from the Lime Parking drops you off.

This photo and the next one below were taken, obviously, in front of the Lego Store.

T-Rex Restaurant was created by the same folks that created Rainforest Cafe.  It is an interactive experience with American Food. We didn't eat there.

Looking across the waterway at Saratoga Springs Resort which is named and designed after the town on the Florida West Coast located near Siesta Key Beach which was featured in an earlier blog post.

I loved the color contrast of the Boathouse light tower behind the orange.

On the Beverly Hillbillies, Granny calls the swimming pool, "the cement pond".  Well, this is a cement spring and river.  It's pretty.

The boys took interest in the "cement" river.

This is the guy that makes all of our adventures possible.

The Boathouse Restaurant

Next to the Boathouse, a very small family of three or two adults and two small children can rent an amphibious car that will travel through the Disney Springs waterways, and it costs $125 to do so.

The amphibious car is call the Amphicar.  This guy is pretending to be the captain/driver.

The oldest of the three of our children, out of the seven, still living at home and sharing a moment with Dad before Dad has to leave town for business.

Brothers sharing a moment together.

Off to the left, there is a little wedding going on in front of the Characters in Flight helium balloon.

The Characters in Flight helium balloon is not a hot air balloon but a helium balloon and it costs $20 per ride for adults and $15 for children.

Cuddle time with Daddy.

I love Disney tile work.  I have taken many Disney tile pictures over the years, even when I lived out of state.

An outdoor Icee bar.

"The early bird catches the worm".  If you can get to Splitsville  before 12:30 p.m., this Disney Springs bowling alley prices are great.  The price includes shoes, and is for 1 1/2 hours of bowling, so you are allowed to bowl as many games as you can in that time frame.

Everybody getting their shoes on for our bowling experience.

The rest of the photos are just a few pictures of the family bowling.  We had to rush out soon after we finished to make an appointment so that ended the picture taking for our day at Disney Springs.
