Enjoying the Water Taxis and the Leisurely Walk between Disney Hollywood and Epcot

If you want to experience Walt Disney World atmosphere but don't want to spend money to go into the parks, taking the boat from Disney Hollywood Studios to the BoardWalk and then walking on the walkway back from the Boardwalk to Disney Hollywood is an excellent way to do it.

A short walk northeast of the front gate of Disney Hollywood Studios takes you to the dock for the Disney Water Taxi where you can board a boat (water taxi) that can take you to three locations, Disney's BoardWalk (including the BoardWalk Inn and BoardWalk Villas), the Yacht Club, and The International Gateway entrance to Epcot.

The ride to Epcot takes 20 minutes which includes the stops to the BoardWalk and the Yacht Club on the way.

Donned with southern landscaping and architecture, the ride offers a calm and pleasant journey past the resorts and the BoardWalk to the Gateway.

You can enjoy the scenery, take pictures (if your water taxi windows aren't too dirty, or you are sitting on the outdoor seating of the taxi), or if you need a power nap in the middle of the day, it's a great place to take a little nap.

No, they aren't napping here, but just give them couple minutes, they could be.

I've actually taken a couple quick naps on this taxi to rejuvenate in the middle of the day.  The
white-noise of the taxi is perfect for snoozing if you are too bushed to enjoy the scenery.

On this trip, we decided to take the ride up to the International Gateway and then back to the BoardWalk where we disembarked and walked the rest of the way to Disney Hollywood Studios.

Before, taking our walk back we saw some interesting and nostalgic signage.  This Crest of the Wave is on the back of the BoardWalk resort and is just fancy signage for the BoardWalk itself to make it look like a boardwalk from the olden days.

We also stopped off and walked into the the Screen Door General Store where guests are able to buy common grocery items like a box of Cheerios, or a jar of spaghetti sauce for a very inflated price.

Then we stopped and looked at the ducks.....

..... and through the telescope that looks across the "lake".  I tried to find the name of this lake, but I couldn't find one.

Then we left the BoardWalk area and took the walkway that goes past the BoardWalk situated hotels/resorts.

We walked past the beautiful grounds of the BoardWalk Inn and BoardWalk Villas...

...and past the Dolphin and Swan hotels.  These two resorts are special to us because we moved to Central Florida the day before Christmas Eve and we toured these to hotels on Christmas Day to look at their beautiful Christmas decorations, and it has become a Christmas tradition.

The Dolphin

The walk from the BoardWalk to the Disney Hollywood Studios restrooms (which we needed at that point) took about 30 minutes.

It was a great memory and I'm definitely looking forward to doing it again!

Please enjoy the rest of the photos from our walk and thanks for visiting.
